Advisory: Expect Lots of Snow in Plum-Oakmont This Weekend
National Weather Service forecasts hazardous travel conditions.
Two Clipper-type systems will mean lots of snow to western Pennsylvania this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
A winter weather advisory for snow is in effect from 10 a.m. Saturday to 7 p.m. Sunday. The weather service forecasts snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches; those totals could go as high as 6 to 10 inches in the higher ridge elevations.
The snow will begin mid-morning Saturday and end Sunday evening, with the heaviest snow coming Saturday afternoon into midday Sunday, NWS states on its website.
According to The Weather Channel, 1 to 2 inches of snow is expected in Plum, Oakmont and Verona during the day Saturday. An additional 1 to 2 inches could fall in the evening. Another inch is expected on Sunday.
A winter weather advisory for snow means snowfall will cause travel difficulties—be prepared for snow-covered roads and limited visibility.
