Allegheny River Boulevard Closed Sunday Morning in Verona

Crews will be working on tree removal as part of the borough's revitalization efforts.

If you're traveling through Verona on Sunday, be prepared for some delays.

Allegheny River Boulevard will be closed to traffic on Sunday morning, March 24, weather permitting. Crews will be removing trees along the roadway between Center and South avenues as part of Verona Borough’s revitalization effort.

As part of the borough's plans, new trees will be planted in the business district. However, existing trees must be removed.

Allegheny River Boulevard will be closed from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. Traffic will be detoured using East Railroad Avenue. Verona police will assist with control traffic.

Motorists are advised to use caution, allow extra time and expect changing traffic patterns when traveling through the area.

For more information about the closure, contact the borough office at 412-828-8080.
