Benefit Scheduled for Plum Woman Battling Leukemia

The Plum Borough Education Association is hosting a spaghetti dinner for the Nixon family.

The Plum Borough Education Association is hosting a charity “Spaghetti Dinner and Raffle” to benefit the family of a Plum woman battling leukemia.

The dinner, which will be held Feb. 2 at the Plum Senior Center, will raise funds to support Lorri Nixon and her family.

Nixon and her husband, Tom, have a son, a daughter at Plum High School and another daughter at Adlai Stevenson.

The dinner will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. The cost is $7 and $5 for senior citizens. Children 4 and younger eat for free. Dinner includes pasta, meatballs, bread, salad, dessert and drinks. Takeout is available.

Anyone interested in donating a food or raffle item, or making a monetary donation to help offset the cost of the dinner should contact J.R. Pilyih by phone at 412-337-5299.

Donations can be sent to:
Adlai Stevenson Elementary School

Nixon's family benefitted from the Serving Other Souls' Miles of Smiles 5K at Boyce Park in November,
