Council Offers Borough Manager Position to Lisa Cooper Jensen
After months without one, Oakmont borough may be getting a new borough manager.
President Timothy Milberger’s announcement that Oakmont Council would extend the position of borough manager to Lisa Cooper Jensen was followed by a round of applause at Monday night’s borough council meeting.
The council announced the decision following a private 20 minute long executive session, however, the process of finding a new borough manager has been ongoing for months.
In June, the council decided the hiring criteria for the position after reviewing the existing job description and decided to keep the search internal.
After that decision was made, Milberger said council decided unanimously to consider Jensen for the position. Jensen has been acting borough manager since Bruce Jamison resigned in April.
According to councilman Tim Favo, Jensen’s "institutional memory", wide base of knowledge and organization was very important in the council’s choice. Previously, Jensen has worked in thr borough for more than 20 years.
“Her being part of the organization so long is very important to us,” Favo said. “She knows what she’s doing and we’re happy to have her.”
Favo says council members will vote at the council meeting on Monday to ratify their decision.
