Home Instead Senior Care in Oakmont is offering a free Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias Education Class next week.
The class—to be held on Tuesday, Nov. 27—combines three workshops that examine dementia and its symptoms from a medical perspective, then share ways to manage the behaviors of someone suffering from dementia, and how to effectively engage with a dementia patient. The workshops are the product of a panel of Alzheimer’s/dementia experts convened by the Home Instead Senior Care network, including UPMC Dr. Erik Rodriguez, who practices geriatric medicine at the Benedum Center.
The class begins at 6 p.m. at the Oakmont office, 661 Allegheny Ave., and runs for about two hours. For more information, call 412-517-8337.
