Former RCAC Director Waives Hearing on Theft Charges

Vanessa DuVall's hearing in common pleas court will be held in October.

A former Riverview Community Action Corp. director accused of embezzling money from the senior center will go before a common pleas court judge next month.

On Wednesday, Vanessa M. DuVall, 37, of New Kensington waived a preliminary hearing at the court of Plum District Justice Linda Zucco on charges of theft and access device fraud.

DuVall is accused of embezzling at least $10,000 from the senior center, which is located on Second Street in Oakmont. She was employed at the center from 2004 to 2011. The Allegheny County District Attorney's office filed the charges against her last month after a year-long investigation.

Her court hearing at Allegheny County Common Pleas Court has been scheduled for Oct. 26 at 11 a.m.
