1. Verona United Presbyterian Church 63rd Annual Strawberry Festival
Where/When: Verona United Presbyterian Church, 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: Bring the family to celebrate at the Strawberry Festival. The event will feature food, games, fun, bake sale, flea market and more!
2. Verner Elementary Carnival
Where?/When?: Verner Elementary School, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: VPTO would like to celebrate the end of a successful school year with you! Come join them for food, prizes, and games! The event also features a bounce house, art table, and airbrush face painting!
Pricing: Tickets are 4 for $1 or 25 for $10. All activities & games, including the bounce house and face painting, will range from 1 to 4 tickets each.
3. Moonlit Matinee Film Festival
Where?/When?: Oaks Theater, 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday
Why Go?: The Oaks Theater presents Pittsburgh's only summer long festival of late night cult movies! Now in it's 10th year! The movies will be held on Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m. all summer long. Prize giveaways will be given at each show. This weekend’s show is Die Hard.
Pricing: Tickets are $8 for general admission and $6 for seniors/students with ID/children under 17
4. Recycle Rama
Where?/When?: Riverview School District Senior High School, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Oakmont Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Recycle Rama event in conjunction with many area businesses at the Riverview High School parking lot. Click here for a list of items that will be collected.
5. Jump with Jill Film Festival
Where/When: Oaks Theater, 1:30 to 4 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Jump with Jill Film Festival will rock a free family event at the Oaks Theater. Guests can walk the red carpet, rub elbows with the film stars, and enjoy free healthy concession stand snacks. The hour-long show will begin promptly at 2 PM. The movie shorts will have kids dancing in the aisles and asking parents for their new favorite vegetable. Kids will have the opportunity to “Ask the Director” about their favorite scenes and get an autograph from Jump with Jill creator and producer, Jill Jayne, MS, RD.
