1. Ambiance Sale
Where?/When?: Ambiance Boutique, Thursday to Saturday
Why Go?: Ambiance has expanded their off sections to make room for new arrivals. Shoppers can take home any five pieces of clearance merchandise for only $30!
2. Verona Fall Festival Days
Where/When: Verona Borough Building, Thursday to Saturday, 6 to 11 p.m.
Why Go?: Residents are invited to celebrate Verona's 10th Annual Fall Festival fom Sept. 8 to 10. The festival includes games, rides, food, entertainment, Bingo, music and more! There will be a firework display on Saturday.
3. Stay and Play
Where?/When?: Oakmont Carnegie Library, Friday, 10:30 to 11 a.m.
Why Go?: This program, which is for children ages birth to 5 years old, is a great way for families to interact and socialize. The playgroup will consist of an hour of unstructured playtime for the children. Call 412-828-9532 to sign-up.

4. Big Dogs Saloon Karaoke
Where/When: House of Big Dogs, Friday, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Why Go: Stop by the House of Big Dogs for Karaoke with DJ Greg. Long Island Ice Tea will be $4 from 9 to 11 p.m.
5. Verona Farmer's Market
Where/When: Verona Borough Building, Thursday, 2 to 6 p.m.
Why go?: The Verona Farmer's Market will be held on Thursdays at the park next to the borough building from 2 to 6 p.m. throughout the summer. Vendors interested in participating should call Rhoda Gemellas-Worf at 412-828-3607.

6. Joyful Twirler Baton Twirling Clinic
Where?/When?: Penn Hills Alliance Church, Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Why Go?: The Joyful Twirlers baton twirling troupe is holding a free clinic for girls ages 6 and older. The clinic is open to girls interested in learning basic baton twirling skills and learning more about the troupe. Girls will learn basic twirling, marching and performance techniques while enjoying fun and fellowship. Batons will be available for use during the clinic. The morning will conclude with a performance by experienced troupe members. Parents can also obtain information about troupe membership, practices and performances. Call 412-759-7487 to register.

7. Lowe’s Build and Grow Clinic
Where/When: Lowes, Saturday, 10 a.m.
Why Go?: Children will build and decorate their own police car using this project kit.
8. The Oaks Theater Cine Brunch
Where/When: Oaks Theater, Saturday at 11 a.m.
Why Go: Cine Brunch is a light brunch from Oakmont Bakery and a movie that begins at 11 a.m. This month's movie is The Philadelphia Story.

9. Model Home Open House with HGTV
Where/When: Edgewater at Oakmont, Sunday at 12 to 3:15 p.m.
Why Go?: HGTV is visiting Edgewater! Residents can experience the HGTV Interior Design Competition "Showhouse Showdown." HGTV’s new “Showhouse Showdown” features two nearly identical model homes customized by two distinct professional interior designers in a competition for the best interior design. This is not just adding some paint or furniture, it’s designing every aspect of the home from beginning to end! The first 100 visitors will have the opportunity to vote on the winning design! Everyone who attends will have the opportunity to be part of the show and join in the festivities!
10. Sept. 11 Ecumenical Prayer Service
Where/When: Verona Presbyterian Church, Sunday, 7 p.m.
Why Go?: This community-wide service of prayer and remembrance will mark the 10-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks. In those days our nation showed its strength by drawing together for prayer and unity. Come join together again and remember and honor the lives lost and the sacrifices made on that day.
