Easter is on Sunday and many churches in the area are celebrating with special services.

Here's a roundup of some of the services. If we're missing any, tell us in the comments or email heidi.dezayas@patch.com. We'll include them for you.

PLUM

Our Lady of Joy

There will be a Holy Thursday Mass at 7 p.m. Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament will be until midnight, and night prayer will begin at 11:50 p.m. On Good Friday, there will be liturgy at 1:30 p.m., and evening prayer and veneration of the Cross at 7 p.m. On Holy Saturday, there will be a blessing of the Easter baskets at noon and an Easter vigil at 8 p.m.—this Mass replaces the 6 p.m. Vigil Mass.

Masses on Easter Sunday will be at 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and noon.

Pittsburgh East Community Church

A Good Friday communion service will be held at 7 p.m. Identical Easter services will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday.

Presbyterian Church of Plum Creek

Dinner and Table Communion will be at 6 p.m. on Maundy Thursday. A Good Friday Mass will be held at 7 p.m. and Easter Sunday service will be at 10 a.m.

Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church

On Holy Thursday, there will be an 8 a.m. prayer service at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and a Mass of the Lord's Supper at 7 p.m. On Good Friday, there will be a Tenebrae sevice at 7 p.m. On Holy Saturday, a prayer service will be he;d at 9 a.m., blessing of Easter food at noon and an Easter vigil at 8:30 p.m. Easter Sunday masses are at 7:30 a.m., 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Unity Community Church

Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services will be at 7 p.m. each day. On Easter Sunday, there will be services at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. 


OAKMONT

On Easter, there will be a community sunrise worship service at the Oakmont Country Club at 7 a.m. on the East porch.

St. Irenaeus Catholic Church

Mass of the Lord's supper will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, and Holy Hour Devotions from 8 p.m. to midnight. On Good Friday, there will be a 1:30 p.m. passion service. On Holy Saturday, there will be a blessing of the baskets at noon and an Easter vigil at 8:30 p.m.

Masses on Easter Sunday will be at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.

St. Thomas Episcopal Church

On Maundy Thursday, there will be a foot washing and the Stripping of the Altar at 7:30 p.m. There also will be a Good Friday service at 7:30 p.m.—a noon service is offered at St. Margaret Hospital Chapel in Aspinwall. An Easter vigil and baptism will be held on Holy Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Masses on Easter Sunday will be at 8 and 10:30 a.m.

Oakmont Presbyterian Church

The church will have a Maundy Thursday service at 7:30 p.m. A Good Friday service will be at 8 p.m.

Easter Sunday services at the church will be held at 8:15 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Redeemer Lutheran Church

A Maundy Thursday service will be held at 7:30 p.m. On Good Friday, there will be 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. services. Easter Sunday Services will be held at 7:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.

Riverside Community Church

A community Good Friday service will be held at the Oakmont church at noon in the RCC Oakmont Sanctuary.

Easter Sunday services will be held at both the Oakmont and Pittsburgh Mills locations as regularly scheduled at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
