Oakmont Gets 'One Shot' At Hollywood Fame
The Paramount Pictures movie "One Shot," featuring Tom Cruise, is filming in Oakmont on Monday.
An Eleventh Street home in Oakmont will be the set for "One Shot" cast and crew on Monday.
The location producers of the new movie—featuring Tom Cruise, Robert Duvall and Rosamund Pike—chose to shoot at 850 Eleventh Street.
Parking restrictions on Eleventh Street between Hulton Road and Virginia Avenue will be in place from midnight to 10 p.m. on Monday.
An Eleventh Street resident has told the Plum-Oakmont Patch that neighbors received a notice stating filming will occur from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. No word on whether Tom Cruise or any of the film's major stars will be on set.
The movie, which is set to be released in 2013, is being filmed in the Pittsburgh area.
Here is a synopsis of the movie plot, according to the Internet Movie Database:
"In an innocent heartland city, five are shot dead by an expert sniper. The police quickly identify and arrest the culprit, and build a slam-dunk case. But the accused man claims he's innocent and says 'Get Jack Reacher.' Reacher (Tom Cruise) sees the news report and turns up in the city. The defense are immensely relived; but Reacher has come to bury the guy. Shocked at the accused's request, Reacher sets out to confirm for himself the absolute certainty of the man's guilt, but comes up with more than he bargained for."

The guy driving the tractor-trailer movie truck that was parked at the end of my driveway this morning at 5 a.m. said that Tom Cruise was in Dubai promoting his newest movie. He was not sure about Robert Duvall.

I did hear that Tom Cruise wasn't in the area earlier this month because he's promoting "Mission: Impossible III" but I didn't know if he'd be back in town by now. Thanks for the info, you guys!

This is not the first use of The town of Oakmont in the Movies.
Fred Rodgers shot an episode at a church on 4th street.
The 1992 movie Passed Away was shot here too!

I believe there was another horror movie that recently used a home on Hulton Road during filming. It's a nice thing for the town!

Heidi,
The horror movie that you speak of is "My Bloody Valentine 3D." It is mentioned at Wikipedia here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Bloody_Valentine_3D
I do recall reading about the whole thing in the local papers as filming was about to commence.
