Oakmont Police Enforce Turning Restrictions

Police have increased patrols at Wade Lane and Advance Way.

Oakmont police are urging motorists to follow traffic rules when is comes to turning restrictions.

Police Chief David DiSanti said officers have stepped up patrols in the areas of Wade Lane and Advance Way.

Motorists are prohibited to make a right turn onto Wade Lane from Hulton Road, and DiSanti said officers have been issuing citations in the area for those who don't obey the traffic law.

"It's a danger to the children in the area and causes congestion at the traffic light," he said.

Officers also are enforcing no left turns from Advance Way onto Allegheny Avenue. Borough council approved a 60-day trial last month, and signs already have been installed, DiSanti said.

The trial ends Jan. 27.

Where is Advance Way in Oakmont? Is making a right turn from Hulton onto Wade prohibited all the time or just during morning rush hours?

You're right, Kathy, it is just prohibited during the morning rush hour.

Advance Way is down by the former Shell station along Allegheny Avenue.

How about the cars that turn right from the Hulton Bridge at Riverview High School between the hours of 2-4pm? I see this everyday coming home from work.
