Oakmont Volunteer Fire Department extinguished a fire on Woodland Avenue early Thursday morning.

Emergency officials were called to the home at around 1 a.m.

According to fire Captain David Carroll, the fire was contained in the residence's kitchen and extinguished quickly. No one was hurt. The family and pets are staying with relatives in the area, Carroll said.
