Harry W. George, of Plum Boro (formerly of Oakmont) peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 in UPMC St. Margaret Hospital ER., at the age of 80. 

Harry was born in Springdale on April 12, 1932, he was the son of the late Archibald and Ethel (Beck) George.  He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirlee (Oravitz) George; loving father of Polly (John) Myers of East Oakmont and the late Michael George; grandfather of Cory and Matt Myers, Bryan, Jason, and Curtis George; great-grandfather of Ava Hoguet; brother of Sally (George) Holtin of Houston, TX, Ida Mae Borris of Turtlebay, FL and the late Archibald and Frances George.

Harry enjoyed playing the saxophone, clarinet, and preaching his love for the Lord. 

Friends and relatives will be received on Thursday, September 13, 2012 from 4-8 pm in the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., 421 Allegheny Avenue, Oakmont. 

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 14, 2012 at 11:30 am in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Cheswick with the Rev.Don Blinn, Jr. officiating.
