Mary Joan “Joan” O’Donnell (Schmidt), formerly of Bloomfield, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2013, at the age of 84. 

Joan was the wife of the late Thomas Joseph O’Donnell; mother of Patricia (John) Lutz and MaryBeth (Michael) Pronko; loving grandmother of Calvin Thomas Lutz.  She is also survived by her twin sister, Jane Bishop, and brother, Frank Schmidt; and predeceased by siblings, Marcella Schmidt, Frederick Schmidt, Jack Barrett, Robert Barrett, and Donald Lieb. 

Joan’s family would like to thank Mary Edwards of Home Instead for her loving friendship and companionship given to our mom. 

Friends and relatives will be received on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 3-8 pm at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont.  A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. 

In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 304 Morewood Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA  15213.
