Sadly, Rita Ellen Thomas died at the age of 59 on February 20, 2013 in her home in Warwick, MD, surrounded by her loving family,

Rita was a loving and devoted mother to her daughter, Jamie Jintian Thomas.  Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Mary Patricia Thomas Mason.  She is also survived by two brothers John Thomas (Joanne Salvetteri) of Pasadena, MD and David Thomas (Jacqueline) of Hamilton, NJ; a sister Anne Donahoe (Tom) of Rancho Santa Fe, CA; brother in-law William Mason of Palm Springs; nieces and nephews, Cleve Mason, Brent Mason, Jonathan & Minette Thomas, Rebecca & Mike Jacobs, Chloe’ & Felipe Contreras, Conor Thomas, Kevin and Andrea Donahoe, John Donahoe, Katherine and Nasry Malak, Michael Donahoe, and Elizabeth Donahoe; her business partner and cherished friends, Scott and Vickie Mason, and their family, and many beloved friends.

Rita was 1971 grad of Oakmont High School.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 24 from 9 to 11 am in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 West Cross Street, Galena, MD where a memorial service will begin at 11 am.
