Plum Army Sgt. Recovering After Being Shot in Afghanistan
Army Sgt. Shane Stipancic graduated from Plum Senior High School in 2007.
A U.S. Army Sergeant from Plum is recovering after sustaining injuries during combat in Afghanistan.
Tina DeSalvo of Plum told the Plum-Oakmont Patch that her son, Sgt. Shane Stipancic, was shot multiple times in combat Feb 16.
DeSalvo said her son is recovering from his injuries at a hospital in Germany, and that "he's doing good." She said he will be transferred to The Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
Stipancic, a 2007 Plum High School graduate, is with the 2nd Platoon, Company B, 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team "Rakkasans," 101st Airborne Division.
