Much of southwestern Pennsylvania—including Plum, Oakmont and Verona—is under a wind advisory until 1 a.m. Wednesday.
A wind advisory means that wind gusts greater than 45 mph are expected.
"Scattered tree and power line damage can be expected. Some minor property damage is possible in the highest gusts. Travel will be difficult for high profile vehicles," the National Weather Service stated.
Winds will increase this afternoon, with the strongest winds shortly after sunset as the front passes. Winds will then slowly decrease through the evening, according to forecasters.
