A Plum teenager faces several charges after being accused of breaking into a district elementary school.

Plum police have charged Justin Kane Hourigan, 18, with burglary, theft, vandalism and underage drinking.

According to a police report, Hourigan broke into Adlai Stevenson Elementary in the Holiday Park section of the borough on Dec. 8. Police were dispatched to the school after the security alarm went off.

When police arrived, they found two broken windows and detained Hourigan. Police accuse the teen of ransacking multiple classrooms and drawers, and smashing several computers on the ground, causing about $5,000 worth of damage.

According to police, Hourigan was under the influence of alcohol and stole candy from the school.

He waived a preliminary hearing before District Magistrate Linda Zucco last week.
