Plum Woman Accused of Drinking Beer Through Straw While Driving
Here are the Plum police reports for the week of Nov. 27 to Dec. 3.
Plum police have charged a woman with driving under the influence of alcohol after finding an open can of beer with a straw in her car during a traffic stop.
Diana D. Broadnax, 55, of Plum was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, false identification to law enforcement, habitual offenders, driving without a license, driving on the wrong side of the road, driving too slowly, restrictions on alcohol beverages, operating a vehicle without official certificate, driving without a seat belt and two counts of driving with a suspended license.
According to the police report, an officer stopped at the Sheetz along Hulton Road and saw an open can of Extra Gold Lager with a straw in the cup holder of a vehicle, as well as an open case of beer in the back seat.
The officer followed the vehicle when it pulled out onto Route 909, according to the report, and Broadnax—the driver—was traveling 10 miles below the speed limit and was driving on the shoulder of the road.
When the officer initiated a traffic stop near Ramparts Road, he noticed the open can of beer in the back seat, and Broadnax provided him with a fake name, according to the report.

Christopher Fdiek Ibrahim, 27, of Penn Hills was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, driving on the wrong side of the road, failure to drive on a road laned for traffic and following too closely after a Nov. 18 incident on the 800 block of Hulton Road.
Anthony Dolessandro, 30, of Wilmerding was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license, driving without a license, driving on the wrong side of the road, failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to use signals, restrictions on alcoholic beverages, general lighting requirements and failure to wear a seat belt after a Nov. 17 incident on Center New Texas Road.
Dylan Lovitt Henderson, 21, of Plum was charged with registration and certificate of title required, speeding, lighting requirements, failure to wear a seat belt, operating a vehicle without official certificate and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after a Dec. 2 incident on Saltsburg Road.
A Turtle Creek resident reported damage to his vehicle on Davidson Road on Nov. 29. According to the police report, two men were speeding through a gravel lot on an ATV and gravel struck the vehicle, causing $2,100 to $5,000 worth of damage.
An Alcan Drive resident reported a hit-and-run on Nov. 23. According to police, someone allegedly drove onto the victim's front yard, causing damage to a mailbox and a parked vehicle.
A burglary was reported at Plumbers Equipment Inc. on Sagamore Hill Road on Nov. 28. Police were dispatched to the business after the alarm rang and found heavy damage to two doors. Police found some pipe on the floor, which is believed to have been used to damage the doors. About $300 worth of pipe was reported missing.
A Greensburg resident reported that someone stole a Duquesne Light electric meter/socket box from the side of his residence on Nov. 29.
Alexander Michael Steffey, 29, of Plum was charged with simple assault and harassment after a Nov. 29 incident at the Kellywood Manor apartments.
Scott Thomas Croghan, 23, of Plum was charged with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and two counts of harassment after a Nov. 17 incident on Zandona Street.
