It's an OK bakery...if you've ever been to Paris you wouldn't call it "the best bakery"..luckily in Pittsburgh we do have some superb bakeries...two of them are owned by people originally from France..La Gourmandine

As I was saying before my possessed Blackberry took off on it's own....La Gourmandine in Lawrenceville..talk about breads,SUPERB!!..also soups sandwiches,Quiche like I've never tasted...and awesome pastries...THE FRENCH BAKER..in Millvale is another..Go on line..you can gain weight just visting his site..and of course MOIO's in Monroeville..Their signature Rum Cake,Canolis, just everything superb..These 3 bakers cook with BUTTER not Margarine..I asked the people @ Oakmont what they use.."Well,ah..mmm,ah..we use a "blend"..Do you now?...Like I said an "OK" bakery but if one cares about quality one can do much better

we have been going to Oakmont Bakery since moving to Oakmont 10 years ago and love the products and the owner Mark. He and his staff have a great attitude when assisting customers..."attitudes are contagious and Mark's and his staff's attitudes are very much worth catching" we will continue to purchase products at the bakery and will refer our friends from the city as well...beats going to Sq Hill bakeries as we did in the past when we lived in the city...glad they added the patio dining! Love the bakery and have eaten in the cafe a couple of times. The cookies (especially the Lady Locks ) are the best I've ever had. The cakes are divine and everyone who works there is simply just awesome! We have relatives who come in from Ohio and they always ask if I can pick up a cake from the Oakmont Bakery.
