Students in the Riverview High School marching band helped make the Apollo-Ridge band's senior prank a reality Friday night.

During Apollo-Ridge's halftime show, the band members planned to drop their instruments to dance to the latest hit, "Gangnam Style" by PSY. However, the band's music would not play due to technical difficulties.

As Apollo-Ridge's band stood on the field waiting for the music to start, the Riverview band came to the rescue. Band members ran on to the field and began to play "Gangnam Style."

You can view everything unfold in the attached video. The action begins at around the five-minute mark.

Many parents applauded the local band for stepping up to the plate and helping.

"There really are good kids in the world," said parent Stacey Braden- Hindmarsh Galata.

Galata thanked band director Ian Hughes for teaching the band good sportsmanship and character.

School board member and parent Ernie Tillman also expressed how proud he was of the band.

"We love our band at Riverview, and this is just another shining example of what these kids are all about," he said.

As the parent of the Drum Major for Apollo-Ridge Marching Band (Elyse Kardos), I want to express how proud and elated we all were that Riverview's Band stepped in to help make Senior Night prank a success. I have been employed in Oakmont for several years now and loved seeing the kids I know in Riverview's Marching Band. A real class act!
