Shots Fired Near Boyce Park Wave Pool Friday
This is the third year in a row that gun activity has been reported at the pool.
For the third year in a row, shots have been fired at or near the Boyce Park Wave Pool in Monroeville (near the Plum border).
According to KDKA, Allegheny County police said no one was hurt after shots were fired at a car near the pool's entrance, which is a half-mile from the pool itself.
Last year, several local police departments responded to the pool in June after multiple shots were fired during a fight in the parking lot. In June 2010, there also was an incident involving two gunmen at the parking lot outside the wave pool, in which an 18-year-old was charged.

It is concerning, wish there was some sort of way to check vehicles before comming into lot, without being too much hassle.

This is ridiculous! People can't even go and enjoy a nice, quiet day at a public pool. Its so sad that things like this have to happen and then places close up because people are too afraid to go.

We live near the pool. This type of violence doesn't happen in our neighborhood until the pool opens. Our area is going to get a reputation as an unsafe place to live and that is not true. I think they need to close it at this point or make it a membership type pool. It is a shame that a few idiots have to ruin it for everyone else. When I was growing up, it was a fun place to go. This stuff never happened. Now it is an annual thing. I will never take my children there unless they make some changes.

Close it. Maybe build an amplitheter. That way the clientail can be determined by the featured show.
