Snowy Afternoon: 1-2 Inches Expected by End of Rush Hour

The snow is expected to taper before midnight.

 

It could be a slippery rush hour Monday.

The National Weather Service is predicting a quick moving storm will move through the western Pennsylvania area Monday afternoon and evening.

Here is a more detailed look at the forecast for Plum-Oakmont and Verona.

    • Monday Afternoon—Snow. High near 25. Southwest wind 7 to 9 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
    • Monday Night—Snow, mainly before midnight. Low around 18. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
    • Tuesday—A slight chance of snow before 7 a.m., then a slight chance of snow after 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31. Calm wind becoming southwest 5 to 7 miles per hour in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
