Thursday Evening Snow Brings Accumulation, Cancellations
A predicted three to six inches of snow in Plum and Oakmont has caused local cancellations.
Three to six inches of snow are expected to fall this evening and into overnight, according to the National Weather Service.
Plum and Oakmont are part of a regional winter weather advisory for snowfall and the resulting poor road conditions.
Riverview has announced a two-hour delay for Friday morning, but other schools have yet to make the call.
Many local events have been canceled, including tonight's Plum Hockey game at Bethel Park.
Bingo at Holiday Park Volunteer Fire Department is canceled and will resume next week.
Road crews are out salting and plowing throughout both boroughs.
Drivers can check road conditions by calling 511PA. The number, which is free and available 24-hours a day, provides weather and traffic updates.
