Holiday Kick-off - Verona

The kick-off for the holiday season in Verona and Oakmont  will be held this Saturday evening.

Although the festivities begin at 4 p.m. along the main business district of Allegheny River Blvd., Verona, the parade begins at 5 pm in Oakmont and will march to the end in Verona. So come early to Verona and enjoy the pre-parade  festivities.

Beginning at 4 pm (and continuing until 7 pm), Verona will have music, food, vendors, Santa and his elves (following the parade), and fun for all.  Also viewers will be able to drop off one or three or more nonperishable food items at the Food Bank kiosk (it is really low and could use your thoughful donations).

As you walk along the boulevard notice the trees in the planters (thanks Diane Fantone).  The decorations of six of the trees were made by students from Presslley Ridge School and the Verona flower and Garden Club provided the ornaments of the other seven trees.  Also notice the greens and cheery red bows as you travel across the viaduct.

The parade will feature floats (look for Verona's designed and directed by Rick Romick, Don Worf, and Lou Race plus assorted elves), three bands, and additional groups handing out apples and candy.

Each year the Verona and Oakmont Chambers of Commerce plan and provide a welcome to the holidays and enthuse us with the holiday spirit...come be a part of it.
