RIVERVIEW'S SENIOR CHEER CAPTAINS PERFORMING IN THE BIG APPLE!

Riverview Senior Cheer Captains Briana Gonnella and Madison Long will perform with more than 650 cheerleading and dance teams across the country representing Varsity Spirit in the 2013 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.  They will spend the week before Thanksgiving in New York City sightseeing and rehearsing for their nationally televised performance on Thanksgiving Day.  This year's cheerleaders and dancers will show their spirit along the streeets of Manhattan from Central Park West and 78th Street down to 34th and Seventh Avenue.  The parade culminates in Herald Square with a televised performance.  Both girls attended a summer cheer camp through UCA (Universal Cheerleaders Association) at Slippery Rock University with their RHS varsity cheer squad and coaches, Katie and MaryLynne O'Donnell.  This year will mark the 28th performance that Varsity, under the direction of Spirit of America Productions, has given this opportunity to the cheerleaders and dance team captains and co-captains from camps across the country.  Madison and Briana are very excited to have this moment and are grateful to their fellow squad members (Varsity and Junior High), coaches, their parents, school administrators and community for helping them get there.  A lot of fundraising took place in the months leading up to this exciting and "once in a life time" opportunity.  Tune in Thursday, November 28, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on NBC and watch the 2013 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, one of the most celebrated parades in the world!
