Obituary - James E. Young

James E. Young 84, of Harmar Township, died Thursday evening June 6, 2013 at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital, at the age of 84.

 Jim was born December 24, 1928 in Avonmore, PA to the late Miller and Mae Silvus Young. Jim retired from J & L Steel as a clerk. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in Company I Sixth Armored Calvary Division. He loved his pets Schatzie, and Heidi.  Jim was a hunter at a very young age, enjoying the outdoors and his camp in Kittanning.

 Jim is survived by his loving longtime companion Patty ( Burger) Yaworsky; father of Mark (Carmen) Young of Bristol, Tenn. and James Young of Aliquippa; brother of Anabel ( Joe) DeMaria of Homer City, and Barb”Dolly” (Joe) Naybor of Avonmore, and the late Robert L. ( Helen Marie) Young, John “Jack” ( Glady ) Young and Miller “Speed” Young; grandfather of Justin Young of McKee’s Rocks; brother-in-law of Linda Young of Clune, PA. Also nieces and nephews survive, especially his niece Gwen Young of Springdale.

 Friends and relatives will be received at BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREAMTION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC. 421 Allegheny Avenue, Oakmont on Sunday from 2-6 pm. Services will be held Monday morning at 10:30 am in the funeral home with Rev. David Carlisle of Springdale Presbyterian Church officiating.
