Obituary - Joann Nicassio (Urbano)

Joann Nicassio (Urbano), of Rostraver Township (formerly of Monroeville and Penn Hills), passed away at Shadyside Hospital on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at the age of 80.

Joann was the devoted wife of the late Dominic Nicassio, who passed away in 2001.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Louis Nicassio, of Baltimore, Linda Zilka of Rostraver Township, Mary Beth Kiesel of Narvon, PA and her grandchildren, Maria and Nico Nicassio, Ashley and Jordan Zilka, and Rachel and Brian Kiesel and her twin sister Josephine Morgan of Denver, Colorado.  Joann was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Manola Falsetti of Arnold, PA and Pila Silagyi of Natrona Heights, PA .

Joann was a graduate of Har-Brack High School and West Penn School of Nursing.  She formerly worked as the head nurse in the operating room and devoted her life to taking care of her husband and three children.

Joann ignited a spark when she entered a room and lived life to the fullest.  Whether singing, dancing, traveling, sharing a story, or showing off her extensive collection of photos of family and friends, everyone got to know Joann! 

Friends and relatives will be received on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. in the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., 421 Allegheny Avenue.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 9, 2014, in St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10 a.m.
