Obituary - Linda Heckman Johnson

On Tuesday, March 4, 2014 Linda Heckman Johnson, of Oakmont, passed away at the age of 63..

Linda was the beloved wife of David Francis McLaughlin; loving mother of John Clay Elliott Johnson (Tzu-Yu Hu), Benjamin Daughtry Johnson (Anastasia), Erin Caitlin McLaughlin and Garrett Tavis McLaughlin; dear sister of Carolyn Seletzky, Rebecca Heckman (Tom Peterson), and James Heckman (Kathy).

Linda never hesitated to speak up, sing, dance, or give of herself for others.  A Master of Social Work, focusing her practice on trauma therapy, her “total living courageously approach” was more than a philosophy; it was a way of life that all who met her experienced: honesty, compassion, and love.  She is remembered by family, friends, and clients, grateful for the time they shared and joy she brought into the world.

Friends will be received Sunday, March 9, 2014 from 5:30-7:30 pm in the Allegheny Unitarian Universalist Church where a memorial service will be held 11 am Monday.  In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to the University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation, Inc, designated for the John P. Johnson Pediatric Immunology Lectureship Fund.
