Obituary - Nicola “Nick” Tamburro

Nicola “Nick” Tamburro, of Verona, died at the age of 88, with his family at his side on Friday, January 17, 2014. 

Nick was the beloved husband of Rosa for 65 years; loving father of John (Linda) Tamburro, Amelia (Tom) Soisson, Diana (Jeff) Vescera, Paula (the late Gary Gent and Charles McCracken), Nick (Marybeth) Tamburro; brother in law of Maria Santucci; adopted father to George Santucci and Rita Santucci-Sumney; doting grandfather of 13 and great grandfather of two and uncle to many. Nick was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Cesidia; brother Fred, and sister Amelia (Santucci).

Nick was born June 2, 1925 in Roccacinquemiglia, Italy.  He moved to the United States at the age of 11 and became a life long resident of Verona Pa.  He was a proud WW II US navy veteran.

Nick worked hard all of his life to provide for his family.  He was an avid gardner, animal lover, and loved spending time with his family and friends around his campfire.  His favorite pastime of all was spending time with his family and grandchildren.  His loving heart and great sense of humor will be deeply missed. 

Friends and relatives will be received on Sunday, January 19, 2014 and Monday, January 20, 2014 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC. 421 Allegheny Avenue, Oakmont.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Verona.
