Obituary - Olive Lee Gilliand

Olive Lee Gilliand, a resident of the Woodlands, Longwood at Oakmont and formerly of Fox Chapel and Naples, Florida, passed away on July 15, 2013, of pneumonia, at the age of 91. 

Olive Lee was the beloved wife of 44 years to the late Merle E. Gilliand and the mother of the late Dr. Mark Gilliand.  Olive Lee was the daughter of Mildred and Charles Henry of Pitcairn and the loving sister of Gloria Scarpino of Johnstown and her brother, the late Charles Henry as well as the devoted aunt of Mary Ellen Mock of Johnstown and Christopher Scarpino of Boston.  In addition, she especially cherished her grand nephews: Kevin, Emery, and Eric Mock.

Olive Lee was an active member of the Duquesne Club, Rolling Rock Club, and Oakmont Country Club.  Olive Lee was a warm, caring woman who was loved by all who knew her.

Interment at St. Clair Cemetery in Greensburg will be private.  A memorial service in celebration of Olive Lee's life will be held at Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church at a date in the near future.

Memorial donations in Olive Lee's name may be made to the Gilliand Scholarship Fund benefiting Duquesne University students c/o PNC Bank, 249 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222; Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church; or the St. Margaret Hospital Foundation.
