Obituary - Trevor Preece

Trevor Preece, of Oakmont, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, in UPMC St. Margaret, Aspinwall, at the age of 67.

Trevor was born Oct. 24, 1945, in Kidderminster, England, to the late Andrew and Phyllis Carpenter Preece.  He retired from the VA Hospital and also was employed at Edgewater Steel Corp., Oakmont, for many years before its closing.  

Trevor was the beloved father of Shannon (Michael) Baker, Joshua (HoIly) Preece, both of Ohio; brother of Terrance "Terry" (Gretch) Preece, of Oakmont, Marion (Ira "Buzz") Cornett, of Apollo, and the late Raymond Preece; dear friend and companion of Ruth Gates; and grandfather of Ellen, Patrick, Gregory and Audrey Baker.

Trevor held in his heart many fond memories of his employment at the former Edgewater Steel in Oakmont.  He also served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.

Friends and relatives will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC., 421 Allegheny Avenue, Oakmont.  Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home.  Burial will be in  Deer Creek Cemetery, Cheswick.
