2013 Ash Wednesday Services in Plum, Oakmont & Verona

Wednesday marks the first day of the 2013 Lent season. Here's a list of Ash Wednesday services in Plum, Oakmont and Verona:

PLUM

Our Lady of Joy Parish—There will be services at 6:15 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Ashes will be distributed after the homily during these Liturgies.

Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church—Ashes will be distributed during the 7 a.m., 9 a.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. services.

Saint Januarius Church—Masses will be held at 7 a.m., 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Liturgy of the word with ash distribution will be at noon and 4 p.m.

OAKMONT

Saint Irenaeus Catholic Church—Ashes will be distributed at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., and 7 p.m. services. Ashes also will be distributed at noon (no mass).

Saint Thomas Episcopal Church— Ash Wednesday services will be held at 7 a.m., 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. In addition, a service will be held in the chapel of St. Margaret Hospital in Aspinwall at noon. 

Redeemer Lutheran Church—Ash Wednesday service will be held at at 7:30 p.m.

VERONA

St. Joseph Catholic Church, 825 Second Ave.— Services will be at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Verona services include a combine service with fellow believers from Trinity Lutheran, Verona United Methodist, Apostles Lutheran, Verona Presbyterian, Rosedale United Methodist, and St. Joseph churches, which will be hosted by Verona Presbyterian Church, located on the corner of South and Second Avenues, at 7 p.m. The service will include the imposition of ashes and the celebration of Holy Communion.
