ARB Expected to Close for Two Weekends in August

Road resurfacing and paving work is expected to close Allegheny River Boulevard in Verona and Oakmont for two weekends in August.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has hired Derry Construction Co. to reconstruct and resurface the road from James Street in Verona, over the viaduct and over to Allegheny Avenue in Oakmont.

Preliminary work is expected to begin the week of July 29. The road tentatively will close from 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, to 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5; and from 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, to 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, weather permitting.

Crews will complete unfinished work on weekday nights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Single-lane closures will occur during the progression of that work.
