Clean Up Efforts Planned in Plum-Oakmont Area

Earth Day is coming up, and people are redding up the area.

Volunteers are needed for some upcoming clean-up efforts!

Verona

Verona In Progress is hosting a litter clean-up day on Saturday, April 21, at 10 a.m. Volunteers are asked to meet at the borough building with gloves. Vests will be provided by the borough public works department.

River Banks

Join Allegheny Land Trust, Friends of the Riverfront and Allegheny Cleanways on Saturday, April 28, to clean up the banks of the Allegheny River and Sycamore Island in Verona. No boat? No problem! There are several available for lending out. Contact Mike Good at stewardship@alleghenylandtrust.org to make a reservation. Space is limited.

Earth Day

Verona's second-annual Earth Day Celebration will be held Saturday, April 28, at the park next to the . The event will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be food booths, live music, raffles, crafts and more.

Previous Events

Last week, the Verona Garden and Flower Club in Verona hosted a cleanup event; the Garden Club of Oakmont cleaned around Dark Hollow Woods; and the residents of Rustic Ridge in Plum held a neighborhood cleanup on Ross Hollow and Stotler roads.
