Get Out: Community Days, Author Breakfast and Street Sale

Here are five events to check out this weekend.

Welcome to the Plum-Oakmont Patch's Weekend Planner!

Got no idea what you'll do this weekend? Patch is coming to the rescue! We've got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our top picks for this weekend to find something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

Where?/When?: , 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Plum Rotary and the Borough of Plum will host the Plum Community Days Festival. The festival will be held July 26, 27 and 28 at Larry Mills Park. Each day there will be games, raffles, entertainment and a balloon artist, plus there will be plenty of good food from local organizations and fun for the entire family! . Stop by the Plum-Oakmont Patch tent.

Where?/When?: , 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday
Why Go?: The Oaks Theater presents Pittsburgh's only summer long festival of late night cult movies! The movies will be held on Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m. all summer long. Prize giveaways will be given at each show. This weekend’s show is Back to the Future Part II.
Pricing: Tickets are $8 for general admission and $6 for seniors/students with ID/children under 17

Where?/When?: , 10 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Alex Kava returns to MLB with a red-hot new thriller, Fireproof, a 10th spectacular adventure for FBI agent Maggie O'Dell. In Fireproof, Maggie O'Dell is pursuing a serial arsonist that the authorities look upon as a dangerous maniac but Maggie sees a cold and calculating criminal. Worse, she senses that it is someone close to her. The Mystery Lovers Bookshop invites you to join them for a breakfast to learn more about the author and her novels. The breakfast begins at 10 a.m. and includes a continental breakfast, talk and signing. Reservations are necessary.

Why Go?: Come out for a day of great shopping, delicious food and snacks, wild children’s activities and much more! Stop by the Gold Chamber Booth for Vendor Maps and Information. .

Where/When: 465 Parker St, Verona, PA, 12 to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday
Why Go?: The Verona Volunteer Fire Department is holding a two-day mattress sale on July 28 and 29. Need a mattress? Head to the fire station and check out their selection.
