Get Out: Publication Party, Concert in the Park and Art Reception

Here are five events to check out this weekend.

Got no idea what you'll do this weekend? Patch is coming to the rescue! We've got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our top picks for this weekend to find something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

Where?/When?:, 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. on Friday
Why Go?: Drop in, play, and meet other families with young children. This playgroup consists of about 45 minutes of unstructured playtime for the kids. This program is for children ages birth to 5 years old, with a parent or caregiver.

Where?/When?: , 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday
Why Go?: The Oaks Theater presents Pittsburgh's only summer long festival of late night cult movies! Now in it's 10th year! The movies will be held on Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m. all summer long. Prize giveaways will be given at each show. This weekend’s show is Labyrinth.
Pricing: Tickets are $8 for general admission and $6 for seniors/students with ID/children under 17

Where?/When?: , 2 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Local actor, playwright and author Kathy Haines celebrates publication of a the second in her Edgar-nominated series of young adult novels. You won't want to miss this party one of Pittsburgh's most talented authors. Call to RSVP at 412-828-4877 or use the Contact Form.

Where?/When?: , 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Concert in the Park featuring “The Igniters” will be held on Saturday at Riverside Park in Oakmont, PA.  Doors open at 5 p.m. and music is from 6 to 9 p.m.  Bring your blankets, baskets, family and friends.  All proceeds will go to Oakmont Lion's Club Charities.  The concession stand will be open.
Pricing: Adults - $6.00, Children 12-18 - $3.00 and under 12 - free.

Where/When: Boulevard Gallery, 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: This reception is for the "MIXED MEDIA EXHIBIT" featuring artist Ed Rickus and the "BEEN THERE DONE THAT" exhibit by artist Marci Evancho Mason.
