Get Out: Tales with Teacher, Celebrate America & Jewelry Workshop

Here are five events to check out this weekend.

Got no idea what you'll do this weekend? Patch is coming to the rescue! We've got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our top picks for this weekend to find something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

It's a good idea to have cash ready for these events.

1.
Where/When: , 10 a.m. on Friday
Why Go?: This program is for children entering kindergarten through sixth grade. Kids will join some of their favorite teachers from the Plum School District for this special storytime. Registrations will be taken until full. Stop at the library to register. Space is limited.

2. Predator
Where?/When?: , 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday
Why Go?: The Oaks Theater presents Pittsburgh's only summer long festival of late night cult movies! The movies will be held on Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m. all summer long. Prize giveaways will be given at each show. This weekend’s show is Predator.
Pricing: Tickets are $8 for general admission and $6 for seniors/students with ID/children under 17

Where?/When?: Kennywood Park, 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday
Why Go?: Celebrate America's birthday with special entertainment every day along with an antique car display and fireworks every night.
Pricing: Regular Funday $37.99; Junior (less than 46") $24.99; Senior (55+) $18.49; Night Rider (after 5pm) $22.99; Sr. Night Rider $10.99; Kids 2 & younger FREE

Where?/When?: , 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: This workshop is for kids ages 6 to 12 - Pre-registration is required! In this easy, fun-filled class, girls and boys will learn to create three beautiful beaded projects, a choker, a bookmark, and a third project of choice! These are made with very high-quality beads (no acrylic used.)

5.
Where/When: Carpenter Log House, 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday
Why Go?: The Carpenter Log House is located on Pierson Run Road in Murrysville. The Allegheny Foothills Historical Society is sponsoring tours each week.
Pricing: Donations are welcome.
