Welcome to the Plum-Oakmont Patch's Weekend Planner!

Got no idea what you'll do this weekend? Patch is coming to the rescue! We've got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our top picks for this weekend to find something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

1.
Where/When: Emilia's Garden, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday
Why Go: The Harmarville-Oakmont Chapter of Women’s Business Network’s next meeting will be at Emilia’s Garden in Cheswick. This group is open to local area women business owners and entrepreneurs seeking networking opportunities with other women to expand their contacts and share ideas to help grow their business. Meetings will be held on the first and third Friday of each month and will include self-marketing, a business presentation by an individual member, table topic and networking.  The chapter is category exclusive so once a business category is filled by a qualified applicant, that category will be closed.

Where?/When?: The New Olde Bank Theatre, 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Why go?: The New Olde Bank Theatre of Verona presents "A Christmas Carol." The production is adapted for stage and directed by Sean Michael O’Donnell. Start a new holiday tradition and bring the whole family to this wonderful production.

Where/When: , 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: The St. John the Baptist School will hold a Breakfast with Santa in the school cafeteria. Breakfast includes pancakes and sausage. Call to make a reservation. Read more about the event, .

Why Go?: The Oakmont Yacht Club will hold a breakfast with Santa for club members and their families.  Call 412-828-9847 to RSVP.

Where?/When?: Lowes, 10 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Your kids won't want to miss the first part of the 2011 Build and Grow train! Come back each week to build the next piece and complete your train!

Why Go?: The library has been saving their treasures for this special event. Decorative bindings, first editions and signed copies! Large collection WWII paperbacks, Harry Potter first editions, Hardy Boys and other children's book series, religious books and text books. Fiction, nonfiction, something for everyone. Prices start at $1 and everything is priced to sell. Lots of books to browse and maybe you'll find that perfect holiday gift!

Where?/When?: Boyce Park Ski Lodge, 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: This holiday party will include games, activities, visits with Santa Clause and more! The Hrivnaks ask those who attend to bring a new, unwrapped toy to benefit the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program, and/or non-perishable food items for the Plum Food Pantry. Read more about the event, .

Why Go?: Poor Souls Band will perform at Zanderz Sports Bar located in Palmieri's Restaurant.

Why Go?: The Children's Christmas Party will be held in Father Marchukonis Hall. Cost includes lunch, craft, face painting and a visit with Santa.

Where?/When?: Westin Convention Center Hotel, 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday
Why Go?: Create a new holiday tradition for your family and make a difference by helping children in our community. Join your friends at Pittsburgh Mercy Health System for the 8th Annual Reindeer Ball, a spectacular holiday children's gala at the Westin Convention Center Hotel, Downtown. Dance along with Madeline, Clifford, Curious George, Junie B. Jones, Mrs. Claus, Rudolph and other favorite characters. Craft awesome art projects, decorate holiday cookies and enjoy face painting, balloon and caricature artists, a child-friendly buffet and more. Proceeds from the evening benefit A Child's Place at Mercy, an invaluable Pittsburgh Mercy Health System advocacy program that serves children who are suspected victims of child abuse and/or neglect, as well as children in foster care. The program relies on the generous support of private individuals to help achieve its mission.
