Here are 10 events happening this weekend, including special New Year's Eve programs!

Got no idea what you'll do this weekend? Patch is coming to the rescue! We've got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our top picks for this weekend to find something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

Where/When:, 4:30 p.m. on Thursday
Why Go?: Dr. Cora Hopkins will lead this session of gentle yoga. Dress comfortably and bring a floor covering. The class is held in the Red Oak Room.

Where/When: , 4:30 p.m. on Thursday
Why Go?: The Oaks Theater will show Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows from Dec. 23 to Dec. 29.  Robert Downey Jr. reprises his role as the world's most famous detective, Sherlock Holmes, and Jude Law returns as his friend and colleague, Dr. Watson, in the feature film.

Where/When: , 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday
Why Go?: Join the library and meet other families. This is a free program with no registration required. Includes themed story, craft, snacks and fun for families of children with special needs who are 18 and younger. Siblings are welcome. All children must be accompanied by a caregiver. This special story time will be held on the last Thursday of every month.

Why Go?: Are you into poetry? Come check out the Oakmont Library poetry group that meets in the White Oak Room.

Where?/When?: , 9 a.m. on Friday  
Why Go?: Bowl for scholarships on your Christmas Break at the Pittsburgh Junior Shootout! The Handicap division starts at 9 a.m. and the Scratch division begins at 12:15 p.m. Bowl both events and pay just $47. Click here for an entry form.
Pricing: $20 for Handicap Division, $30 for Scratch Division, $47 for both.

Where/When: , 5:30 to 7:30 pm. on Friday
Why Go?: All ages are invited to come to Movie Night and Pajama Party. There will also be pizza, popcorn and dessert. The movie will be Veggie Tales' "The Little Drummer Boy."  Call 412-793-4525 to register.

Why Go?: The Verona Borough Building will host movie night featuring the movie "Ice Age Christmas."

Where?/When?: Pittsburgh Zoo, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: It's like Time's Square only Family Friendly! Countdown to noon and watch the "ball" drop, sign the New Year's ReZOOlution banner and dance yourself silly with Radio Disney!
Pricing: $10 for adults, and $9 for children and senior citizens

Where/When: Downtown Pittsburgh, 6 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Highmark First Night Pittsburgh is a unique, family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration focused on the arts. Held in more than 200 cities worldwide, the festival is a wonderful way to bring in the New Year in an uplifting, alcohol-free atmosphere. Centered in the Cultural District, First Night Pittsburgh has something for everyone, from children’s activities and performances by nationally-known musicians, to installations by local artists and a spectacular fireworks finale. Why Go?: The band "8th Street Rox" will perform at Zanderz Sports Bar in Palmieri's Restaurant. This will be the New Year's Eve Extravaganza!
