Where/When: Boyce Park, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Jan. 22.
Why Go?: The 4th Annual Christmas Tree Recycling will be held in the Boyce Park’s model airplane field, which is located past the ski lodge. Residents can drop off trees daily. All lights, decorations, tinsel and stands must be removed from trees prior to drop-off. The trees will be mulched and used in the county parks.

Where/When: Emilia's Garden, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: The Harmarville-Oakmont Chapter of Women’s Business Network meets at Emilia’s Garden in Cheswick on the first and third Fridays each month. The group provides a venue for meeting and networking with successful women entrepreneurs in the local area. The purpose of the organization is for members to grow their circle of influence, improve their “60-second” commercial and create lasting business and personal relationships to further business growth within a supportive environment. Meeting agendas include self-marketing, a business presentation by an individual member, a table topic discussion and networking.

Why Go?: The Riverview Music Department is hosting its second annual Spaghetti Dinner featuring a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle and a performance by the jazz band, string ensemble and choral ensemble. Proceeds from the dinner will help to offset the costs of the music department trip to New York City in May.
Pricing: $10 for an adult, and $8 for children/senior citizens.

Where?/When?: Pittsburgh Public Theater, 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday
Why Go?: The Pittsburgh Public Theater welcomes 2012 with comedy! The Second City returns with a new show: Laugh Out Loud. If you’ve resolved to put more fun in your life, start the year at Pittsburgh Public Theater with The Second City, the famed Chicago comedy troupe that launched the careers of Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell and many others.

Why Go?: Join Bernadette Manning, a Sister of Charity and professional counselor, for a brief journey into the world of Alzheimer's Disease. Where?/When?: Phipps Conservatory, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday
Why Go?: Don't miss your last chance to check out the Winter Flower Show at Phipps Conservatory. With seasonal blooms, twinkling lights, aromatic greens, and other adornments, the 1893 Victorian glasshouse has been transformed into a winter wonderland complete with whimsical scenes where the Sugar Plum Fairy, toy soldiers and princely nutcrackers enchant visitors of every age.
Pricing: $12 for adults, $11 for senior citizens (age 62 and older), $11 for students (with valid ID), and $9 for children (ages 2 to 18). Members and children younger than 2 enter for free.

Why Go?: Theatreworks USA’s live stage performance of Charlotte’s Web, by Joseph Robinette, has toured across the country since fall 1993, and is based upon the Newbery Medal-winning book by E. B. White. The stage performance follows White’s classic story of a pig named Wilbur who is saved from the slaughterhouse by a gifted little barn spider named Charlotte. This treasured tale, featuring mad-cap and endearing farm animals, explores bravery, selfless love, and the true meaning of friendship.

Why Go?: Collaborators is a new play by John Hodge, the screenwriter of Trainspotting, Shallow Grave, The Beach, and directed by National Theatre Artistic Director Nicholas Hytner. The play centers on an imaginary encounter between Joseph Stalin and the playwright Mikhail Bulgakov.
