Why Go?: Panera Bread is inviting its customers to join in the fight against breast cancer by purchasing a Pink Ribbon Bagel in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Panera will GO PINK and partner with The Young Women’s Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation (YWBCAF) and Magee-Womens Research Institute & Foundation (MWRIF) and donate a portion of the proceeds from every Pink Ribbon Bagel sold. The YWBCAF and Panera GO PINK event will take place in all 28 Pittsburgh café locations and the proceeds benefit the Breast Cancer Patient Navigator Program at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC.

Why go?: Protect yourself and your loved ones this flu season by getting a flu shot! The Penn Hills Municipal Building will offer free shots for ages 18 and older.

Where?/When?: Dark Hollow Woods Park, Saturday, 9 a.m.
Why Go?: Calling All Friends of Dark Hollow Woods! The Garden Club of Oakmont has scheduled a Dark Hollow Woods clean up day this Saturday. Work to be done includes spreading the huge pile of mulch that is in the parking area onto the various trails and muddy spots; clearing the trails of downed trees, low hanging branches, sticks, etc.; and picking up trash throughout the entire woods. Please bring work gloves, pitch fork, rake, wheelbarrow, shovel, pruners, trash bags and whatever else you may have that will be helpful.

Why go?: Your kids will love building this Halloween Monster Machine and creating lots of funny monster combinations afterwards!

Why Go?: "Stretch for Health" is presented by Health Horizons massage therapist, Becca Heyns, and designed to demonstrate both the importance of regular stretching for increased health and flexibility and several techniques and approaches for all ages and physical capacities.  The wonders and relieving capacity of Muscle Release Technique will be explored.  Wear comfortable clothing and join the group for a practical and enjoyable way to increase physical and mental well-being, lower blood pressure, experience greater calm and manage stress. Where?/When?: Penn Hills VFD Station 224, Saturday, 7 p.m.  
Why Go?: The Funny Fundraiser produced by Slapsticks! Productions, LLC will be held on Oct. 8th. There will be three comedians ready to make you laugh hard all night long! There will be a cash bar and food for sale. This event is for ages 21 and up. The event will also feature a 50/50 raffle and prizes.

Why Go?: Children ages 3 and older are invited to create a paper bat for this Hallow's Eve. This is a free make-it, take-it event while supplies last.
