Welcome to the Plum-Oakmont Patch's Weekend Planner!

Got no idea what you'll do this weekend? Patch is coming to the rescue. We've got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our top picks for this weekend to find something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

It's a good idea to have cash ready for these events.

1.
Where/When:, Adults: Monday and Wednesday at 6 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday at 9 a.m.; Saturday at 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. Youth: Monday through Friday at 4 p.m., Saturday at 9 a.m.
Why Go?: Steel City Rowing Club in Verona is offering a promotion for anyone who is interested in the sport and would like to give it a try. Come to any three of the coached practices for free, with no obligation.
Pricing: Try three for free.

Where?/When?: Boyce Park Pool, Thursday, 10 to 10:45 a.m.
Why Go?: The Allegheny County Parks Department is offering free swimming lessons at the Boyce Park swimming pool. Participants must be 5 years of age or older. Classes for individuals with last names beginning with "A" through "K" are held on Tuesdays and classes for individuals with last names beginning with "L" through "Z" are held on Thursdays!
Pricing: Free.

Where/When: , Thursday, 6 to 8 p.m.
Why Go: Calling all knitters, crocheters and stitchers. Come together to share techniques, tips and resources with other creative people. 
Pricing: Free.

Where/When: , Thursday, 2 to 6 p.m.
Why go?: The Verona Farmer's Market will be held on Thursdays at the park next to the borough building from 2 to 6 p.m. throughout the summer. Vendors interested in participating should call Rhoda Gemellas-Worf at 412-828-3607.
Pricing: Varies.

Where/When: , Thursday, 2 to 3:30 p.m.
Why Go: Children ages 8 to 11 are invited to join the chess club. Stop in the library to register. Parents are asked to stay with their children during the program.
Pricing: Free.

6. Lewis and Clark Big Top Circus
Where/When: Monroeville Community Park West, Thursday and Friday, 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: Enjoy a European Style Circus with your family at the Monroeville Community Park West. Tickets can be purchased online or from any Monroeville Rotarian.
Pricing: Advanced tickets are $10 for adults 15 and older. All children enter for free with advance ticket sale purchases.

7. Moonlit Matinee
Where?/When?: Oaks Theater, Friday, 10 p.m. and Saturday, midnight.
Why Go?: The Oaks Theater continues its summer long film festival with the movie “The Fly.” Read more about the festival by clicking here.
Pricing: $8 general admission; and $6 for senior, youth and student admission. Purchase advanced tickets here.

Where?/When?: Boyce Park, Saturday, 8:30 a.m.
Why Go?: Stampede in the Park will be held in Boyce Park. The 5K course includes uphill and downhill roads. The race will start and finish at the Four Seasons Lodge. Race packets can be picked up at the Boyce Park Ski Lodge from 6 to 8 p.m. on July 22 or from 7 to 8:15 a.m. on race day. Register online today!

Where?/When?: Michaels in Monroeville, Saturday, 11 am to 2 p.m.
Why Go?: Children ages 3 and older will experience Mexican heritage through craft. Participants will create their own Mexican sun and tissue paper flower while supplies last.
Pricing: Free.

10.
Where?/When?: , Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Why Go?: The Oakmont Yacht Club Annual Regatta will feature entertainment, food, beverages, games and a kids corner from 12 to 3 p.m. and fireworks at 9 p.m. Come down and join in  the fun! The kids corner and fireworks will only be on Saturday.
