Welcome to the Plum-Oakmont Patch's Weekend Planner!

Got no idea what you'll do this weekend? Patch is coming to the rescue. We've got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our top picks for this weekend to find something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

It's a good idea to have cash ready for these events.

1.
Where?/When?: Church of the Redeemer in Squirrel Hills, Thursday, 2 to 3:15 p.m.
Why Go?: Math can be challenging and fun! Children will enjoy puzzles and brainteasers in a casual social setting. The program will take a close look at  popular puzzles like sudoku, classic but lesser known puzzles and games of strategy and logic.
Pricing: $9 per session per child.

2.
Where/When: , Thursday, 4 p.m.
Why Go?: Dr. Cora Hopkins will lead this session of gentle yoga. Dress comfortably and bring a floor covering. The class is held in the Red Oak Room.
Pricing: Free.

Where/When:  , Thursday through Saturday, 4 to 10 p.m.
Why Go?: The Saint Irenaeus Catholic Church Festival will fun from Aug. 4 to 6. Dinner will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. and a flea market and games will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. each night. Other features include a ballon artist, DJ, raffles and more! Read about the festival .

Where/When: , Thursday, 6 to 8 p.m.
Why Go: Calling all knitters, crocheters and stitchers! Come together to share techniques, tips and resources with other creative people. Call 412-798-7323 to register.

Where/When: Deer Lakes Park, Thursday, 9 p.m.
Why Go: Deer Lakes Park will hold Classis Cinema Under the Stars at Carp Field. The classic movie will be "Some Like It Hot."

Where/When: Penn Hills Community Park, Friday, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Why Go: Children will explore dry ice, glow–in-the-dark slime, shrink dinks and color changing beads at the Penn Hills Community Park. Children will also learn magic tricks to astound their parents and friends. The camp is open to kids of all ages.
Pricing: Free.

Where?/When?: Bruster’s Ice Cream, Friday, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Why Go?: This Car Cruise is located at Bruster's Ice Cream in Lower Burrell. Cruisers get Buy-1-Get-1 FREE on ANY item! Classic cars & classic ice cream is a winning combination, serving sundaes, milk shakes, banana splits, and brownies! The event will take place, weather permitting.
Pricing: Free.

Where?/When?: , Saturday, 10 p.m.
Why Go?: This showing is part of Oak's Theater's 9th Annual Moonlit Matinee film festival, presented with the support of the ScareHouse. Assault on Precinct (1976) will also play on June 4 at 12 a.m. There will be nightly door prizes!
Pricing: $8 general; $6 senior, youth and student admission.

Where?/When?: Home Depot, Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Why Go?: Children ages 5 through 12 will make a pencil box at Home Depot's free How-to Workshop.
Pricing: Free.

10.
Where?/When?: Imagine Penn Hills, Saturday, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Why Go?: A New Charter School will be opening August 2011 in Penn Hills. Parents can come learn about this innovative, new school and find out how to enroll their children. This session is for children entering kindergarten through grade 2.
Pricing: Free.
