Where?/When?: , Thursday, 6 to 8 p.m.
Why Go?: The "Pink" festivities include "pink" services for a donation, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, raffle, door prizes and more! This event will benefit the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. Call 412-828-5870 to RSVP.

Where/When:, Thursday, 6:30 p.m.  
Why Go?: The Mystery Lover's Bookshop is hosting open discussiom sessions about eBooks. Participants will discuss the eBooks website, various choices in eReaders, how to purchase and more. Click here to RSVP.

Where/When: , Thursday, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Why Go: Calling all knitters, crocheters and stitchers. Come together to share techniques, tips and resources with other creative people.

Why go?: The Verona Farmer's Market will be held on Thursdays at the park next to the borough building from 2 to 6 p.m. throughout the summer. Vendors interested in participating should call Rhoda Gemellas-Worf at 412-828-3607.

Where/When: , Friday, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Why Go: Stop by the House of Big Dogs for Karaoke with DJ Greg. Long Island Ice Tea will be $4 form 9 to 11 p.m.

Where?/When?: Penn Hills Library, Friday, 6 to 8 p.m.
Why Go?: Calvin Stemley and Cross Culture will perform a free concert on the library's lawn! Guests should bring their own lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets. The library will offer hot dogs, drinks and ice cream from Ben and Jerry's for sale.

Where?/When?:  Home Depot, Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Why Go?: The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, this fun time allows for quality one-on-one time between adults and children. In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates' aprons and an achievement pin. This week's project is an ESPN Game Day Board.

Where/When: Michaels, Saturday at 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Why Go: Grandparent's Day is on Sept. 11. Children ages 3 and older can wish grandparents a joyous day with a handmade card. This is a free make-it, take-it event while supplies last.

Where/When: Michaels, Saturday at 1 to 3 p.m.
Why Go?: Celebrate Grandparent's Day with a personalized frame. This year, Grandparent's Day is on Sept. 11. Ages 3 and up can participate in this make-it, take-it event while supplies last.

Where/When: , Saturday, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Why Go?: The band "8th Street Rox" will perform at Zanderz Sports Bar in Palmieri's Restaurant.
