Where?/When?: Cycling Fusion Headquarters, 5:30 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: Cycling Fusion has come to Oakmont! A pioneer within the fitness world has chosen to open their studio doors in Oakmont. The grand opening is on Oct. 21 and all Oakmont residents are invited to come experience this unique approach to fitness, spinning and cycling. The studio is offering three sessions that will fit any fitness needs. All age groups are welcomed! .
Pricing: $9 to $12

Where?/When?: , 7 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: There have been so many reports of spooky activities lately that the Oakmont Library has asked the Oakmont Paranormal Society to help investigate! Embark upon a 50 minute walking tour of Oakmont, where you will learn about the mysteries that haunt the town! The tours will be led by members of the Oakmont Paranormal Society. If ghosts are around, they will hunt them down! Tours will leave the library every 15 minutes, beginning at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be available at the library for those waiting to go on the tour. Tours are appropriate for all ages.

Where?/When?: Boyce Park, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday
Why go?: Allegheny County’s Eighth Annual Phone Card Drive is for U.S. troops who are stationed overseas. Beginning Oct. 17 and continuing through Dec. 10, residents can donate international phone cards weekdays at the Boyce, North and South park offices, as well as the County Executive’s Office in Room 101 of the County Courthouse. Phone cards may also be donated at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum located at 4141 Fifth Ave. in Oakland from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. All donated phone cards will be distributed among the 171st Air Refueling Wing, 911th Airlift Wing, and 316th Regional Readiness Command. During the first seven years of drive, Allegheny County has collected more than 590,000 the phone-card minutes for overseas troops.

Where?/When?: The New Olde Bank Theatre, 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday
Why Go?: The New Olde Bank Theatre in Verona presents "Vinegar Tom." Gender and power are explored in this fictional account of the 17th century witchcraft trials in England.

Where?/When?: , 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday
Why go?: The Oakmont Carnegie Library is cleaning out the Squirrel’s Nest Bookstore. Help the library by shopping for some great deals at their Bag Book sale.
Pricing: All the books you can fit in a bag for $5.

Where?/When?: Michaels, 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday
Why Go?: Ages 3 and up will make a fun scary spider T-shirt at this make-it, take-it event.
Pricing: Purchase of T-shirt, while supplies last.

Where?/When?: Lowes, 10 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Your kids will love building this awesome Monster truck! The kit includes a flashing light and glow in the dark stickers.
Pricing: Free.

8.  
Where?/When?:Oakmont Clock Tower, noon to 4p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: The Riverside Women's Association is sponsoring the Halloween Poster Painting Contest. Kids in grades 3 to 8 can participate by painting Halloween and autumn themed posters on the windows of the shops on Allegheny River Blvd. Kids can compete alone or in teams up to three. Posters are painted on site, so come with an idea or sketch! Paper, paint and brushes provided. Judging begins at 4 p.m. Winners will be announced at 5 p.m. Posters will be displayed for one week. Where?/When?:, 2 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: The Mystery Lover's Bookshop is hosting open discussion sessions about eBooks. Participants will discuss the eBooks website, various choices in eReaders, how to purchase and more. Click here to RSVP.
Pricing: Free.

Where?/When? Pittsburgh Zoo, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go? There is much to do at the KDKA ZooBoo! Venture through the zoo collecting great candy, enjoying the animals and participating in other fun activities along the way.  Stop by your favorite haunts at Gymkhana’s Haunted hideaway and the not-so-spooky train ride. Conjure up a frightfully fun costume for the Halloween Parade and Costume Contest at Water’s Edge. Make a deliciously sweet treat at Casper’s Craft Corner or get spooked at the Docent Council’s Haunted House. Trick-or-treat bags will be provided to all children 13 and younger. Bags will be distributed until 3 p.m.
