1.
Where?/When?: The Boulevard Gallery, Thursday to Friday, noon to 4 p.m.
Why Go?: The Boulevard Arts Gallery October Exhibit is "Back to the Drawing Board" by James Bodnar. The exhibit also features work from Diane Dube, Steve Lylle, Roz Santacicca and Marrian Sallade.

Where?/When?: Simply Pearls, Thursday, 6 to 8 p.m.
Why Go?: Simply Pearls specializes in semi-finished and finished jewelry made from cultured pearls and combinations of pearls, natural stones, precious metals and crystals. They offer custom designs and create and make their jewelry right in Oakmont by carefully selecting the raw material of high quality directly from pearl farms without the “middle men.” Simply Pearls delivers high value products at attractive prices. Each Thursday, Simply Pearls hosts an event featuring wine, cheese and pearls.

Where?/When?: Pittsburgh National Aviary, Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Why go?: Get up-close to over 600 birds of more than 200 species from eagles and owls to penguins and flamingos! Frolic with your favorite feathery friends in our five free-flight walk-through exhibits. The National Aviary is America’s only indoor bird zoo and is located just blocks from PNC Park.

Where?/When?: Andy Warhol Museum, Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Why Go?: At the Warhol you have the chance to truly experience art. Whether you come to see the permanent collection, a performance, a visiting artist’s work, a party, or just for lunch, you’ll find something to talk about, laugh over, delight in, or ponder for days. Be sure to visit the latest special exhibition, Heroes and Villains: The Comic Book Art of Alex Ross.
Pricing: Free admission as part of Pittsburgh’s RADical Days.

Where?/When?: The Nuin Center, Friday, 6 p.m.
Why go?: Encores! is a membership organization for those facing challenges and opportunities for re-invention and renewal in the second half of their lives. Encores! is a community of select resource providers whose wisdom and expertise will help co-create the journal that only you can make – one of self-exploration and renewal, to uncover the wisdom and exuberance within.
Pricing: Free.

Where?/When?: Carnegie Museum of Art and Natural History, Friday, 6 to 9 p.m.
Why Go?: Celebrate the opening of the newest exhibition, M is for Museum, with exclusive tours, delicious food, themed cocktails or "mocktails" and a chance to explore the museum in a party atmosphere. Guided by the ABCs, discover the wonders of one of America's best natural history museums. Costumes welcome, but wear whatever expresses your mood!
Pricing: $125/Adults, $50/Children 17 and under, click here to purchase tickets.

Where?/When?: Kennywood, Friday and Saturday, 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Why Go?: Come experience the shocking sensations of Phantom Fright Nights at Kennywood. After the park closes for the winter, a ghastly and horrifying force takes over the fairgrounds. The park has no control over the Phantom or what he chooses to do in his nine haunts such as Villa of the Vampires, the Kennyville Cemetery or Gory Park. Plus, you'll need to watch your back on the midway itself and on many of the haunted rides inhabited by The Phantom! Phantom Fright Nights is not recommended for children under 13.
Pricing: Admission is $26.99 (plus $1 amusement tax) but you can save $3 on tickets at participating Giant Eagle locations.

Where?/When?:Frick Park, Saturday, 8 a.m.
Why Go?: The Homeless Children's Awareness Week kicks off with this challenging 5K run and walk through the beautifully scenic Frick Park. The race will begin near the Clayton Hill Trail. Parking is available by the entrance of Frick Park near Forbes Avenue and Beechwood Blvd. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finishers of the race. Registration will include a t-shirt and additional goodies. Registration will be available on race day from 8 to 9 a.m. Click here to register online. Where?/When?: Pace School in Forest Hills, Saturday, 9 a.m.  
Why Go?: The school’s annual Race for Pace 5K Run and Walk will include prizes and awards, cash prize to the top three male and female finishers, awards for top male and female Masters (40yr+), and awards for top male and female finishers in 13 categories. The race also features Paws for Pace, a one mile dog walk with chances to win prizes in categories such as largest, smallest, longest tail and biggest ears. The honorary co-chairs of the Race for Pace are WTAE co-anchors Mike Clark and Kelly Frey. Major Sponsors of the 11th Annual Race for Pace include ING, Westinghouse, Comcast, Freeport Steel, Clayton Kendall, Citizens Bank, American Eagle Outfitters and Leeds. Click here to register.

Where?/When? Hartwood Acres, Allison Park, Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Why Go? The Down Syndrome Association of Pittsburgh event promotes the acceptance of individuals with Down syndrome. The day includes an awareness walk, as well as food, entertainment and activities for people of all ages and abilities. Money raised by donations and sponsorships stays with the local community and directly impacts families.
Pricing: The cost to attend is $20 per household. Cash donations also will be accepted.

Where?/When?: Freeport Rd & North Ave, Blawnox, PA, Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Why Go?: Serenity Valley Farm operates a farm stand every Saturday morning in Blawnox. The farm sells Certified Naturally Grown produce and free-range eggs. Click here for a full list of items that will be sold. Be sure to check the website to ensure the stand has not been canceled due to weather.
