Welcome to the Plum-Oakmont Patch's Weekend Planner!

Got no idea what you'll do this weekend? Patch is coming to the rescue! We've got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our top picks for this weekend to find something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

1.
Where?/When?:, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: The Harmarville-Oakmont Chapter of Women’s Business Network meets at the Oakmont Carnegie Library on the first and third Friday of each month. The group provides a venue for meeting and networking with successful women entrepreneurs in the local area. The purpose of the organization is for members to grow their circle of influence, improve their “60-second” commercial and create lasting business and personal relationships to further  business  growth within a supportive environment. Meeting agendas include self-marketing, a business presentation by an individual member, a table topic discussion and networking.  Each chapter is category exclusive so once a business category is filled by a qualified applicant, that chapter category is closed.

Where/When: The Harmar House, 6 to 11 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: The fourth-annual Riverview Community Action Corp. dinner dance will be held Friday, March 2. The event will feature the Pittsburgh Doo Wop Big Band at the Harmar House. The evening will feature dinner, dancing and Chinese auction. All proceeds will benefit RCAC programs and activities. Call 412-828-1062 to order tickets and for more information.
Pricing: $25 per person.

Where/When: Dressbarn, Thursday to Sunday
Why Go?: For the thousands of women who are without an interview suit or professional-looking ensemble, Dress for Success, the international non-profit organization that promotes economic independence for the disadvantaged women, has teamed up with Dressbarn, the national retailer of women’s clothing, to collect and distribute professional attire for its 10th annual “Send One Suit Weekend.” From March 1 to 4, gently-used suits, pants, shirts, skirts, shoes and other professional items can be donated at any of the 825 dressbarn locations nationwide. These donations will be distributed amongst local non-profit organizations to be given to less fortunate women looking to re-enter the workforce. The closest Dressbarn to the Plum-Oakmont area is in the Miracle Mile Shopping Center in Monroeville. To find other locations, click here.

Where?/When?: , 9 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: Volunteers that are available to assist with the removal of the ice rink at Riverside Park are asked to come to the 3rd Street entrance this Saturday.

Where/When: Hoss’s Steakhouse, Saturday
Why Go?: The Plum Music Boosters are holding a fundraiser at Hoss's Steakhouse in Murrysville on Saturday. Diners who on behalf of the boosters will help them raise money. Hoss's will donate 20 percent the total check to Plum Music Boosters. If the group raises $1,200 or more in sales, Hoss's will donate 25 percent. This applies to single day, single store events only.
