Weekend Planner: Rummage Sale, Art Reception & Mushroom Walk

Here are five events to check out this weekend.

Got no idea what you'll do this weekend? Patch is coming to the rescue! We've got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our top picks for this weekend to find something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

It's a good idea to have cash ready for these events.

1.
Where/When: , 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: The 50th Annual Plum Creek Church Rummage Sale will be held this Friday and Saturday. Clothing, jewelry, housewares, toys, books, furniture, and appliances will be sold both Friday and Saturday. Delicious homemade food, beverages and baked goods will be also be available.

2.
Where?/When?:Sycamore Island, 10 a.m.
Why Go?: Join Allegheny Land Trust and James Tunney on Sycamore Island this Saturday as the Western Pennsylvania Mushroom Club Identifier shares his knowledge on how to gather and identify mushrooms on Sycamore Island. This is a bring your own boat event. Pack a lunch and dress for the occasion. Register by emailing Mike Good at stewardship@alleghenylandtrust.org and include name, phone number, and email address for each member of your party. Families are welcome, but space is limited.

Where?/When?: , 10 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: The Verona In Progress Clean Up event has been rescheduled from April 21 to this weekend. Volunteers are asked to meet at the borough building with gloves. Vests will be provided by the borough public works department.

Where?/When?: , 10:30 on Saturday
Why Go?: Whether chosen (as in retirement) or imposed, the healthy human response to loss is grief. Join Eileen and learn how to handle grief so that it leads to growth, instead of to a sustained state of gloom or even depression.

Where/When: Boulevard Gallery, 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: A Pittsburgh Tribute” is a themed mixed media art exhibit portraying the multi-faceted views of Pittsburgh as seen through the eyes of twenty regional artists.
