Get Out Weekend Planner: Market, Playtime and Concert

Local events in the Plum-Oakmont area.

Welcome to the new and improved Get Out Weekend Planner. We recently combined the Grab & Go Kids Planner with Get Out for a one-stop shop for fun weekend planning.

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our top picks for this weekend to find something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

Where/When: , Thursday, 9:30 a.m.
Why Go: First time walkers will receive a pedometer and T-shirt. The walk will begin at the library and head around the perimeter of the parking lotS at the library, community center and apartments. This program is sponsored by the Allegheny County Library Association in partnership with AARP and Highmark PALS program.
Pricing: Free.

Where/When: , Thursday, 3 to 7 p.m.
Why Go: The market will feature homemade items, bread, jewelry, candles, crafts and some vendors with produce.

Where/When:, Adults: Monday and Wednesday at 6 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday at 9 a.m.; Saturday at 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. Youth: Monday through Friday at 4 p.m., Saturday at 9 a.m.
Why Go?: Steel City Rowing Club in Verona is offering a promotion for anyone who is interested in the sport and would like to give it a try. Come to any three of the coached practices for free, with no obligation.

Where?/When?: , Friday, 10:30 to 11 a.m.
Why Go?: This program, for children ages birth to 5 years old, is a great way for families to interact and socialize. The play group will consist of an hour of unstructured playtime for the children. Call 412-828-9532 to sign-up.

Where/When: , Friday, 4 to 7 p.m.
Why go?: There will be strawberries, ice cream, strawberries, Angel Food Cake, strawberries, chocolate covered strawberries and more.  Stop by for food and fellowship!

Where?/When?: 419 10th St. in Oakmont, Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Why Go?: Items will be on display in the back of the home.

Where/When:Lowe's, Saturday, 10 to 11 a.m.
Why Go?: Children ages 3 and older will love building this Goofy Golf kit.
Pricing: Free.

Where/When: Michaels, Saturday, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Why Go: This Make-It Take-It is free with the purchase of the frame. Decorate a picture frame for Father's Day. Children ages 3 and older will create the perfect gift for dad's special day, while supplies last.
Pricing: Purchase of the frame.

Where?/When?:  , Saturday, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Why Go?: The band Blissterz will perform at Zanderz Sports Bar & Night Club in Palmieri's Restaurant.

Where/When: Michaels, Sunday, 1 to 3 p.m.
Why Go?: Children ages 3 and older can make special handmade gifts for dad's special day. Participants must purchase a tie or t-shirt while supplies last.
Pricing: Purchase of tie or t-shirt.
